    yay

jeremy just called from work to say hi. that made me smiley.

so moving on from being gushy, last night i saw “see what i wanna see” at the lyric stage company of boston. overall, i was impressed with the show. it was fabulous for the first time to have a context in which to place the songs, the monologues that are cut from the cast recording are crucial to the plot. i loved it. this specific production of the show, i felt, could have used some help.

standout cast members included morito/the husband/the cpa and the janitor/the priest. they were both remarkable. so was the woman who played the medium/aunt monica. the man who played the thief/the reporter was an emerson grad, and i unfortunately have to say that i was not very impressed with his performance. the woman who played kesa/the wife/the actress sort of made me want to die. her acting in act II was much better than in act I, but her voice overall did not impress me whatsoever. her voice was not bad, but it was inappropriate for the demands of the role.

the set design was sort of cool but the bevels in the giant thing in the middle of the stage gave it a bit too much detail. i felt the emphasis should have been put much more on the performers and less on their surroundings. overall, it was a great show and i’d highly suggest rushing tonight’s 8 pm performance, it’s the last one!

additionally, everyone should come out for “the house of blue leaves” auditions next week! it’s f.u.d.g.e.’s new show. check the site for details!

perhaps that’s all for now. i’m on my way to pick jeremy up from work so we can make dinner and watch ugly betty. that makes me happy, as well.

listen to more audra mcdonald. kaythanks.

    i bought an obnoxious scarf.

it’s the weekend! to celebrate, i went out and bought a huge, obnoxious scarf from h&m (like dolly would every time we go to cambridgeside)! it’s making me happy.

wednesday evening, i had a lovely business dinner with the ever-fabulous shannon rosa. we discussed details of the house of blue leaves, the website, and a few other swanktastic things. shannon, to quote the scene we cut from “i sing!”, “i think you’re fucking awesome.”

last night, jeremy and i went to a screening of “an inconvenient truth” at suffolk. overall, it was an interesting movie with a good message; but for real, al gore, the fact that your sister died of lung cancer due to smoking or that your son was hit by a car when he was 6 have nothing to do with global warming. stop that. now.

tonight, i’m either seeing “see what i wanna see” at lyric stage company or “turnadot” at the majestic.

    today kyle is thankful for:

    1. jeremy’s increasingly consistent ability to wake up on time.
    2. the f.u.d.g.e. theatre company (specifically shannon rosa).
    3. “mister choi and madame g”.
    4. his obnoxious new scarf.
    5. the fact that he doesn’t have class till tuesday.
